Mersey Beat Tribute

Billy Mersey's show is a celebration of everything Mersey Beat. It's like bringing the cavern club to your care home. It features songs by Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Searchers, The Beatles and lots of 50s Rock n Roll. The show uses a small 50 watt amplifier backing tracks and a microphone to get the joint rocking.

This show could include I like it, when you walk in the room, needles and pins, twist and shout, many Beatles songs and of course you'll never walk alone, which I have found is very popular in this area.

Mike Collins first began performing in care homes in the nineteen eighties. His mum ran a nursing home in Liverpool and she taught him everything she knew about performing in these unique environments. Mike learned that not all the residents were able to join the main event, and for the right resident, guided by his mum, he would take the acoustic guitar to perform a special private performance for someone who would have appreciated the show, but was unable to join the others for various reasons. This is always available if you think any particular residents would appreciate it.

Most of Mike's shows are based on the idea of getting people singing along, and his singalong shows are very popular. He can even learn some songs in advance if you wish. Older songs from the 40s are not off limits, if you have older residents. Just have a word with Mike and let him know what you think your residents would appreciate most.

If you have a very large room, Mike will bring a portable PA system that is just 50 watts in power. So shouldn't overpower, but in a smaller room a completely acoustic performance might be better. He has even done wandering shows where he has moved around the building doing smaller private shows for different residents around the building. Not all entertainers are as flexible as this and you can get a show that suits the people who are present.

Why not take advantage of Mike's experience as a singing telegram to surprise a resident or a staff member who is celebrating a birthday or perhaps they are leaving.

Mike writes a funny song all about that person and gives them the song on full band production audio CD and laminated photo lyric sheet. It's only another £50 to write a fully personalised song for someone.

PVG Scheme Disclosure

Richard Michael Collins known as Mike Collins who provides the acts listed for care home entertainers Glasgow is participating in the PVG Disclosure scheme. When this is complete you can be absolutely sure that the entertainer that you allow into your care home will be safe for all your residents. We feel that this kind of trust is very important when booking Professional entertainers and we encourage you to only use entertainers who kind provide this kind of assurance.

Bespoke Entertainment

We are proud and happy to provide a custom entertainment service, so providing you give us enough notice, the performer can learn any song in most genres. This can be very useful if one of your residents or a member of staff is celebrating a special occasion or perhaps leaving your organisation, the performer can sing their favourite song and dedicate it just to them. Mike Collins' experience as a singing telegram performer is invaluable for this. Why not consider having a special song written all about that person, including all the funny stories that will make them laugh out loud. There is an extra charge of £50 for this but it does include presenting them with a full band production audio CD of the special song and a laminated photo lyrics sheet, featuring photos that you supply. This ensures that the person is fully engaged with the performance, and that it will never be forgotten.

This is the speciality that Mike has won 6 awards for so I hope that you will consider this when the event is for a special occasion.
